The brand reveals a new alpine jacket with Hydroshell technology

Introduced for its previous spring/summer range, Hydroshell waterproof technology was according to Berghaus, it’s most successful new fabric launch ever.

At this July’s huge OutDoor trade event in Friedrichshafen, Berghaus revealed that this technology will be incorporated in its new product for 2016, the Hydroshell Hybrid Jacket. It’s a technical shell that blends Berghaus’ 2.5L Hydroshell™ Elite and 3L Hydroshell™ Elite Pro fabrics; the aim being to offer a waterproof, breathable and durable jacket that’s also highly functional.

Using a 100% polyamide with polyurethane membrane, waterproofness is achieved up to 15,000mm. A Size L weighs 536g, which is reasonable considering it’s designed for alpine use: it should work well with packs or a harness thanks to a slightly longer cut and its cuffs and hem are adjustable, plus it has a helmet compatible hood, two raised zipped handwarmer pockets and side body venting.

Available in either lime green or dusk and from S-XXL, the Hydroshell  Hybrid Jacket will be in shops from March 2016.

Berghaus claims it’s a jacket that will appeal to “any aspiring alpinist or technical long-distance hiker.” We expect this will be a popular choice.
