Nominations for The Great Outdoors Awards open this week – here’s how you can get involved
Every year since 2012, The Great Outdoors Awards have recognised the people, places and organisations that help us all get the most out of our time in the hills. If you’ve experienced excellent customer service at your local outdoor shop, if you’ve read a brilliant new walking book, or if you want to recognise someone who goes the extra mile for the benefit of others, please do take the opportunity to let us know.
Concurrently with the reader awards, our judging panel of Chris Townsend, Judy Armstrong, Mike Parsons, Emily Rodway and Alex Roddie will be assessing the most innovative new clothing and equipment launched this year in The Great Outdoors Gear of the Year Awards.
How to nominate

- Are you a TGO reader or member of the hillwalking public? Nominate in any (or all) of the 10 categories listed in the reader awards. Nominations open 18 August and close on 25 September.
Voting for the reader awards will take place online from 28 September to 9 November. Shortlists for the gear awards will be published in the November issue of the magazine, and awards will be handed out at our annual Awards Night at the Kendal Mountain Festival.
