Chris Townsend gives these trail shoes a Best Buy commendation
The Moabs are shoes that I really like but which are a touch too tight for me. They’re made from breathable reinforced mesh, well protected at the toe and heel by an extended toe bumper and heel counter. The sole has a deep tread that grips really well. The cushioning is also excellent, aided by an air cushion in the heel. The nylon shank means the shoes are laterally quite stiff, which is useful when traversing steep terrain. The padded tongue is half-sewn in. There’s also padding in the heel. The shoes open wide, making them easy to get on, and the oval laces stay tied well. The insoles are much more supportive than the useless ones found in most shoes. They have a ‘natural odour control’ treatment too.
The weight is slightly high compared with similar shoes but this should mean better durability. The price is on the low side.
