You can see and feel the quality with a Hilleberg tent and I reckon it will last the test of time. The Nammatj 2 GT is the largest of the tents on test here. It has a large sleeping place and an enormous extended porch making this a luxury size for a mountain tent and still a good weight for its size. The space is great to change in and store kit – and cooking safely inside is easily managed here as long as you keep the vents open.
The inside could have a few more pockets and you need to be quite methodical putting it up and taking it down as the straps underneath can get tangled, but once you have this routine it is easy to put up and down and the pole system is super smooth and easy compared to all the other tents. The look fantastic quality too. The outer pitches first so in pouring rain this would be good and the inside can be left pinned in all the time.
It is a tunnel design so I didn’t expect it to be as good in the wind as a geodesic design but it seemed to stand up well to the weather and had plenty of guys to strap it to the ground.
