The CompressLite Vest is the lowest cost garment tested and quite light for one with a synthetic fill. It’s also reversible so you can have either zipped or open pockets on the outside. The open ones are nice if you’re not carrying anything in the pockets as zips can rub on cold hands. The pockets are half fleece-lined too. Comfort is good and the fill, Craghoppers own, is quite soft and flexible. Warmth is about that of a midweight fleece, with the bonus of a windproof shell of course. There’s no baffle behind the zip but this didn’t make any noticeable difference. The hem of the collar is elasticated which helps maintain a close fit at the neck. The fit is fine, though I’d want a Large size for wearing over outer garments.
