Today on the Blogger Network, Robin joins some of this year’s TGO Challengers on a Lake District daunder
Robin blogs at blogpackinglight about hiking equipment and lightweight backpacking in the UK, He’s an established TGO Challenger, although will be unable to complete the event this year; instead, he’ll be doing a seven-day backpack between Fort William and Aviemore, coinciding with the Challenge itself.
Last week, to stretch the legs and test out the kit he’s selected, Robin hiked a 14.4km route in the Lakes, and has written a three-part trip report.
The photos don’t really do justice. One of the joys of the minor peaks in the Lakes is that they give views which are sometimes better than the higher fells. Out to sea, there was fog bank, while to the south there was the contrast the green of Miterdale and the drab brown of Ulpha Fell in the distance.
