It’s nearly time to announce the winners…
After counting many thousands of votes and carefully assessing the shortlisted items in our Gear Awards, our team is almost ready to announce the winners of The Great Outdoors Awards 2018.
It’s fair to say that the response has been fantastic this year. We’ve added some new categories to both areas of the awards to recognise the increasing role technology is playing for many of us in the hills, and we’ve seen some really interesting new entrants in almost every category of the Reader Awards.
The Gear Awards have been interesting this year too. Our judges have noted a marked uptick in sustainable technologies across the outdoor industry – as well as more mainstream brands adopting ultralight philosophies in their cutting-edge kit. We’ve seen some real innovations.
