Berghaus is helping people to explore the outdoors in confidence this summer with the launch of a new range of contemporary waterproof jackets that offer something for all budgets, without compromising on performance.
Deluge Pro
Berghaus say that the Deluge Pro (SRP £100) represents great value and is the ideal everyday outdoor waterproof. Made from Berghaus’ own award-winning Hydroshell® fabric, the lightweight Deluge Pro will keep out the rain and wind when the weather turns. Features include an adjustable grown-on hood and two zipped handwarmer pockets, while the fit and design details have been “carefully considered to complete an attractive, accessible package”. The Deluge Pro is available now in a selection of colourways. Meanwhile, at £120, the Deluge Vented jacket provides even more protection from the elements with a covered front zip, while underarm zipped vents provide enhance breathability when working hard on the trail or hill.
Alluvion
The Alluvion (SRP £120) is made from waterproof and breathable Berghaus Hydroshell®, designed to keep any outdoor enthusiast drier for longer. The brand point out that the marled face fabric provides a “stylish and contemporary edge both on and off the hill”.
Hyper 140
Following the success of the Hyper 100, Berghaus has extended its ultra-lightweight jacket collection with the new Hyper 140 (£180), designed for fast and light days of multiple activities in the mountains. The 2.5L Hydroshell® Elite fabric is extremely waterproof (20,000mm hydrostatic head) and breathable (MVTR of 60,000), with a six-denier face that Berghaus say is remarkably tough. The seamless main body construction uses one piece of fabric to deliver outstanding articulation and freedom of movement at a minimal weight. Features include a low-profile hood with bonded peak, two lower handwarmer pockets, pre-elasticated hem and close-fitting ergonomic cuffs. The Hyper 140 weighs only 138g (medium) and comes with its own stuff sac.
Ridgemaster
The Berghaus Ridgemaster Vented (SRP £200) has been designed as the ideal companion on the hill, and the brand promise this model offers “storm-level protection” thanks to world-class 2L GORE-TEX® fabric, fully adjustable hood, cuffs and hem, plus two handwarmer pockets and large map pocket. The jacket also features cleverly designed zipped underarm vents.
Changtse
This lightweight and technical jacket (SRP £290) has been designed for the worst conditions faced on long, arduous mountain days. It features a combination of three high-performance GORE-TEX® fabrics to offer varying degrees of breathability and durability across key zones. Body mapped bluesign® approved GORE-TEX® Active delivers extremely breathable waterproof protection around the core body, while durable new generation GORE-TEX® PACLITE® has been strategically placed to ensure protection in areas that are prone to abrasion, including the chest and arms. The revolutionary new GORE-TEX® Topo Stretch fabric is used around the cuffs and hem for great stretch and comfort.
Enhanced ventilation when working really hard comes in the form of a patented Berghaus Vapour Storm vent at the top of the back, while additional protection from the elements is provided by a single point adjustable, helmet compatible hood. At 375g (men’s M) and 284g (women’s size 12), the Changtse offers plenty of performance for a very reasonable weight.
