Just before writing this, I was caught in a pretty serious hail shower, and can vouch for the weatherproofing of the Salomon Halo. Its face fabric is one of the most waterproof here. The interior fabric is also fairly thick, meaning it can get a bit clammy. The jacket is pretty basic – and that’s no bad thing.
There are two hand pockets which are sewn in only part of the way around and, uniquely here, a zipped interior pocket. A hem adjuster helps as there is quite a lot of lift when you hold your hands up. The jacket is comfortable and warm, but there are better options for the price. It’s one to consider however, if water-resistance is particularly important.
