And he is off…
After covering 6km the light began fading quickly and we decided to pitch up for the night. We managed to chose a good spot – I think possibly my best wild camp ever. Right on the edge of a loch at the top of a valley.
The next day we climbed high and got our first good look at the spiked peaks of Knoydart, all underneath a perfectly blue sky.
We followed the sea inland for around 15km along a narrow, rocky path squeezed against the hillside, then at Kinloch Hourn we left the west coast behind and headed into the hills in search of the east.
We had a similarly spectacular spot on our second night, just below Loch Cuaich’s dam. Noodles were on the menu that night, as they had been the night before, and as they are tonight.
Today (15th) we walked through thick forestry and enjoyed the sunshine that has been with us the whole way so far.
Invergarry is the stop for tonight. Quick pint and then back into the hills.
