As part of a new campaign to champion women in the outdoors, Blacks Outdoor are hosting an evening to celebrate inspirational women in their Manchester Deansgate store.
“This Is My Way” is a campaign which highlights some of the inspiring achievements of women in the outdoors and, on 5th December, nationwide retailer Blacks will bring together a whole host of outdoor enthusiasts who share a passion to champion female accomplishments.
From women who have overcome a life-threatening illness and become stronger than ever, to mothers who are inspiring the next generation to get outdoors, Blacks are “honoured to provide a stage for women to share their experiences”.
Abigale Lawton is a mountain biker. Starting out at the age of six, Abi has rarely applied the brakes since. Her success has taken her to podiums in tournaments around the world.
Olivia Wood is an all-mountain adventurer. Hiking and biking whenever she can, she hopes to inspire the next generation to follow in her footsteps. Olivia takes her five-year-old daughter on incredible mountain hiking adventures.
Abigale and Olivia will be among the special guests present at the event in Manchester, joining some other well-respected female influencers.
As well as providing drinks and nibbles on the evening, the store will be offering guests exclusive discount across the women’s ranges. There will also be the chance to win goodies through mini challenges, and a one-off opportunity to win a women’s personal shopping experience worth hundreds of pounds in the Deansgate store.
Speaking about the evening and the campaign, Blacks Senior Marketing Executive Pippa Mead commented:
“We are thrilled to be putting together a unique event to recognise some of the incredibly amazing achievements of women in the outdoors. We are serious about promoting women outdoors and the #ThisIsMyWay campaign aims to inspire women to be the best they can be, and to overcome any challenges or obstacles they may face in their day to day lives.
“The coming weeks and months for the Blacks team will see a greater exposure for women’s activities and the equipment built to help reconfigure limits. Together we will celebrate every woman and what makes her great.”
The event is by invitation only and begins at 7pm.
