The popular Futura series of rucksacks from Deuter has been updated for spring 2018
The Futura family has been revamped with the new Aircomfort Sensic back systems, offering improved comfort and ventilation for a variety of activities. The range of back lengths and capacities on offer means the Futura packs are suitable for a diverse range of requirements, from hikes to city trips, trekking tours to summit bagging, and everything in between.
The new back system is a key feature of the range. They’ve been redesigned with a focus on comfort, fit, and ventilation. Deuter say they are ‘building upon 33 years of experience in mesh back systems and producing some of the best-fitting packs on the market’.
The durable Aircomfort Sensic frame, made from flexible and durable spring steel, provides tension for the back system and encourages ventilation in ‘athletically demanding situations’ (translation: you’re huffing and puffing uphill). Lightweight perforated foam is used in the hip fins, lumbar pads and shoulder straps.
Active-fit shoulder straps with an ergonomic shape are designed to follow the contours of the shoulder and neck, claimed to eliminate chafing or rubbing. The Sensic Pro and Vario back systems benefit from Variflex ECL (Ergonomic Comfort Lock) hip fins, improving contact with the hips and weight distribution, whilst saving you energy as the hipbelt adjusts with the user’s movements.
Other improved details include spacious, well-placed pockets, attachment points for extra kit, and a wet laundry compartment.
The Futura range includes models available in a specific women’s (SL), regular, and long (EL) back lengths.
