Eureka! is a well-established American brand that has recently arrived in the UK. This sleeping bag is the fi rst Eureka! item I’ve used and it’s reasonably light for the warmth and quite well designed. It’s not as light and the fill isn’t as thick as the comparable North Face Lynx but it costs £40 less. The fi ll is the company’s own brand and is soft and comfortable. There are two layers of fi ll and an outer shell that is only attached at the sides and ends to minimise cold entering. The fit is roomy enough for clothes to be worn inside if necessary but not so big that cold spots are a problem. The zip runs smoothly and there’s a thick baffle inside, though this is quite narrow. The hood fi ts well and the foot box is roomy. The inner lining is a soft, peached polyester that feels warm next to the skin without the slightly slippery, chilly feel of some shiny fabrics. Overall for the price this is a good summer bag and light enough for backpacking.
