The Hilleberg Soulo one person tents is a super durable, high quality freestanding 4 season tent and has been in the Hilleberg range for a long time for good reason.

The Hilleberg Soulo is a dome tent of an exoskeleton design, with 2, strong 9mm poles slotting into huge pockets at key points around the flysheet. The vestibule and rear wall are supported by a third pole. There are 4 corner pegs and 12 guy lines in total, with the second guy at each of 6 points wrapping around the pole to give extra stability from a single pegging point – a simple but ingenious design.

David Lintern Highly Recommends

The Soulo remains one of the most comfortable and secure all weather 1 person shelters I’ve ever used. It pitches easily, provides plenty of sleeping and storage space and sheds weather like a champ.

A detachable roof works in conjunction with a 2-way zip on the flysheet door to create a huge covered top vent, which can be tied off and allows cooking in the vestibule as well as shelter from windblown rain. The inner also has a 2-way zip, plus a full mesh window on one side which can be tied open, or zipped shut for extra warmth. Again, a simple but effective design which is user friendly and promotes air flow through the shelter.

The living space is huge due to the high walls. Inside there are 2 pockets, and tabs for hanging a drying line or torch. It’s very comfortable and easy to stretch out and sit up, even for taller people. Stuff sacks are oversized, as are the guy lines and adjusters. It’s easy to use and to pack but it’s a relatively weighty, bulky carry by modern standards.

The Soulo remains one of the most comfortable and secure all weather 1 person shelters I’ve ever used. It pitches easily, provides plenty of sleeping and storage space and sheds weather like a champ. Yes, it’s expensive, and it’s not lightweight, but it’s built to last.
