The Jetboil MicroMo camping stove is the lightest and most compact of Jetboil’s cooking systems in which a heat exchanger pot locks onto a regulated burner. With an 800ml pot it’s designed for solo use. The burner isn’t as powerful as those on the other canister stoves tested but still produced a fast boil time with the supplied pot, showing the effectiveness of the heat exchanger. With a standard pot the boil time was significantly slower than with the other stoves.

The hard anodised pot is tall and narrow. It comes with a pot cosy and fabric handle that gives a secure grip. A twist locks it onto the burner so it can’t fall off though the whole unit can topple over unless on a level surface. The provided 26g canister stand helps with this. Also provided is a separate pot support that clips onto the burner so other pots can be used. This weighs 36g. A shallow plastic cover for the base of the packed unit that can be used as a cup adds another 33g.
The Jetboil MicroMo simmers very well and so is excellent for cooking rather than just boiling water. I expect it will work fine in winter though it arrived too late for me to test it in subzero temperatures. It resists moderate winds okay but isn’t fully windproof, so I’d always carry a foil windscreen.
