Buck Knives have been around since 1902, and constantly develop their key products. The Flashpoint is relatively new and is designed as a backcountry knife. It has a single 7.3cm (2 7/8”) blade made from anodised aluminium. It has a wide grind and a serrated edge towards the handle. The Flashpoint uses a ‘SafeSpin’ method of opening the blade. It is unlocked with the thumb, can be opened very easily and immediately locks safely into place. Once open it is well-balanced and comfortable to hold. There’s a clip that doubles as a bottle opener (a nice touch) and a belt clip. This is the pick of the single blade offerings.
