With the NeoAir Cascade Designs reinvented the air bed and both increased sleeping comfort and lowered packed weight and bulk for backpackers. The XLite is the lightest version of the NeoAir and packs down into a tiny bundle. Unlike traditional airbeds the NeoAir has an internal structure that stops air moving around plus a reflective layer that make it warm enough for above freezing temperatures. I used the Short version, which weighs a mere 230 grams, on the Scottish Watershed and it was comfortable throughout. It has to be blown up by mouth but this doesn’t take long.
