This cheerful, colourful beanie is very warm as it’s a two-layer hat. The outer is a simple knitted acrylic beanie, the inner is a fairly thick fleece laminated to a waterproof/breathable membrane. A waterproof beanie sounds a good idea but this one has a problem. The membrane crackles and sounds like a crisp packet. It’s also not that breathable. The crackling is especially noticeable when you pull the hat down over your ears. Maybe it will wear off after much use and washing but I find it too off-putting to want to wear the hat much.
