After a full day or two on the hills in severe conditions, minor quibbles can become major annoyances. And so it was with the Vaude Kabru.
It’s an OK jacket but the sturdy face fabric scrunches up at the elasticated cuffs and feels very rough and uncomfortable against the skin. Away from this issue, the jacket is the heaviest here, but with that comes a tough Polymide outer fabric that keeps off a reasonable amount of water. The inside fabric is even thicker and not very breathable, but it is a very warm jacket. It has a zipped internal pocket and two hand pockets through which you can adjust the hem. For this price there are much better jackets here.
